Steve Nelson is Co-Founder, was launch CEO, raising the original Series A funding from Midas List #1, Jim Goetz, Steward of his best in history vc firm, Sequoia Capital, and became the initial Chairman of Carbon, Inc., a digital 3D manufacturing company, founded in 2013. 

Carbon’s mission is to reinvent how polymer products are designed, engineered, manufactured, and delivered towards a digital and sustainable future. To date, Carbon has received $683 million in venture funding. Its investors include Sequoia Capital, Silver Lake Partners, Google Ventures (GV), J&J, Fidelity, JP Morgan, Adidas, Nikon, Baillie Gifford, Temasek, Madrone, and numerous others. 

Steve is also Co-Founder of re—inc, a purpose-driven, global lifestyle company and vertical social network for changemakers, co-founded by World Cup Soccer Champions and cultural icons  - Megan Rapinoe, Tobin Heath, Christen Press, and Meghan Klingenberg. Founded by four champions on a mission to boldly reimagine the status quo. The famed venture capital firm, Kleiner Perkins, is the original investor in re—inc, and other investors include New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Creative Artists Agency (CAA), and Stanford. 

Steve was actively involved in the fight for fair pay, from day one, named by the players and their Players Association as a Founding Advisor for the United States National Women’s Soccer Team. The groundbreaking work culminated in a $24M back-pay settlement with US Soccer, and a commitment going forward to be paid equally to the men. 

Steve is also the lead investor, and initial outside board member in Howso Corporation, a groundbreaking technology startup dedicated to keeping the humanity in AI. Howso believes in Responsible AI, meaning machines ought to preserve, amplify, and empower the best intentions of humanity. 

And Steve is a founding advisor of the Whole Health Institute (WHI), to the WHI leadership team and its founder, visionary, and philanthropist, Alice Walton. And is an original board member at the Alice Walton School of Medicine (AWSOM) and now the Heartland Whole Health Institute (HWHI).

Steve was a board member at IPG, the leading provider of Device Benefit Management solutions. IPG was sold recently to the Texas Pacific Group (TPG). Steve is on the board serving as lead director, and lead institutional investor in Sift Media, Jud Bowman's third company, all in partnership with Steve, a company at the intersection of mobile, AdTech, and big data.

Steve is also a Founding Advisor and investor in numerous private companies,  including Well (invested in with Silicon Valley legend, John Doerr), Mustard, whiterabbit.ai, Artocene Digital, Real (alongside the esteemed Nicole Quinn of Lightspeed Venture Partners), Delos Living, Flagship AI, and ZealCare (as the original outside board member).
