Sheila Savageau

Sheila Savageau is the Director, Benefits and Rewards Operations at General Motors. Previously Sheila held the role as Global Health and Well-being Leader.  Sheila has been with General Motors since 2013 and has strategic oversight for operational delivery and execution of global benefits and rewards programs. Under Sheila’s leadership and in her previous role providing strategic oversight for global healthcare innovation and well-being, Sheila has been instrumental in establishing and executing the healthcare strategy for General Motors through innovation to the healthcare delivery model. Sheila is an advocate for improving the member experience, driving engagement in the healthcare system, and improving healthcare quality for GM employees and family members.

Sheila led the strategy and delivery of the first value-based direct contract with Henry Ford Health System in 2019 and continues to evolve value-based initiatives in various markets. Sheila is an active member of employer coalitions, including National Alliance of Healthcare, Business Group on Health, Corporate Health Care Coalition, and the Economic Alliance of Michigan.

Sheila currently serves on the Board of IntoValue Group, co-chair of Economic Alliance of Michigan, Fidelity’s Client Advisory Board, trustee of the GM Belgium Pension Board, trustee on the UK Pension Committee, voting member of the UK Investment Committee, and a voting member of the GM Employee Benefit Plans Committee.

Prior to joining General Motors, Sheila led Global Benefits at Ingeroll Rand, a global, multi-national company, where she led strategy and obtained extensive experience in mergers, acquisitions, and divestiture activity. Prior to this, Sheila led a variety of different roles in global benefits and compensation in the mid-market employer segment.

Sheila has experience in the areas of finance, operations, strategy, and innovation.
