John Supra, MS

Senior Advisor, Technology, Analytics, & Insights

John serves as IntoValue's Senior Advisor for Technology, Data, and Insights. He has been a leader in developing and implementing technology and analytics to support healthcare professionals in driving transformative change in patient care for over 15 years.

Most recently, John served as the Chief Technology and Analytics Officer at UpStream. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing the implementation of technology and analytics infrastructure to support UpStream's innovative care model. This model included over 550 primary care providers and more than 120,000 value-based lives under full-risk arrangements within CMS' ACO REACH program and with Medicare Advantage plans. John worked closely with UpStream's clinical teams to support the pharmacist-led care model, including implementing the care model within the Innovaccer population health platform.

Before joining UpStream, John was responsible for managing the development and operations of a cloud-first data and analytics infrastructure. This infrastructure served over 2.5 million lives, nearly 5,000 physicians and clinical care team members, and over 320,000 value-based lives as the Chief Data Officer and Vice President of Prisma Health's Care Coordination Institute (CCI). Through CCI's clinically integrated networks (CINs), their efforts led to success in various programs, including value-based contracts for Medicare (MSSP & MA), Medicaid, and commercial (third-party payors and self-funded employers [direct-to-employer]).

John served as the Deputy Director for Operations and Information Management and Chief Information Officer at South Carolina’s Department of Health and Human Services (SC DHHS) where he was an active leader in efforts to transform Medicaid policies and modernize technology. He participated in national forums focused on health policy, health system transformation, payment reform efforts, uses of information technology in population health, and organizational effectiveness. Supra led the state’s efforts to streamline Medicaid eligibility processes through Express Lane Eligibility (ELE) earning the state a $5M CMS bonus and a related Ford Foundation grant for $2.4M. He was also a leader in the state’s effort to support at-risk mothers in the nurse-family partnership program through the use of innovative public-private funding partnerships.

John started his career leading substantive process transformation by consistently leveraging technology to fuel innovation and accelerate change across a number of industries.

He holds Bachelor’s and Master's degrees in engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
